NGO Roundtable Forum - How to work with investors
Tuesday 29 November 2011, 9.30 - 5.30 pm
Convened by the EIRIS Foundation, this one-day free forum helped NGOs to share with, and learn from, peers about effective campaign tactics to influence corporate behaviour through investment.
It aimed to explore how NGOs can influence companies, either through their own investments, or through motivating their supporters to use their investments to this effect.

Pooled Funds the Opportunities for Responsible Investment
Tuesday 1st of December 2009, 9.00am to 12.00pm
This seminar explored the current opportunities for charities and foundations to invest in line with their mission whilst investing in pooled investment funds.
Rt Revd Richard Harries, former Bishop of Oxford introduced the event remarking on the increased uptaket in responsible investment by charities over recent years
Stephen Roberts, Charity Commission discussed current investment guidance for charities (CC14) as well as what this means for charities that are interested in investing their assets in a socially responsible way
Jeremy Sherwood, HM Treasury presented an update on the ongoing consultation on changes to the regulation of charity pooled funds
Stephen Hine, EIRIS Foundation presented the key findings from research carried out by the EIRIS Foundation into current opportunities for charities to invest responsibly in pooled investment funds.
Helen Wildsmith, CCLA presented the results of their recent client survey into the responsible investment interests and demands of charities as well as how these findings have been able to be integrated into their pooled funds.
David Docherty, Cazenove Capital presented on the responsible investment approach of their pooled funds as well as how they have been able to action this through screening and engagement

Bill Seddon, Epworth discussed the responsible investment approach of their pooled funds including how Epworth have incorporated both negative and positive screens into their investment practices as well as responded to client demands through engagement.
Investing for Impact in Developing Countries
Using investments for social and financial gain
Wednesday 16th September 2009 2.30 to 5.00pm
This seminar explored how investments can be made responsibly in developing countries – through equity investments and products such as microfinance and immunisation bonds – to generate a social and financial return.
Dan Siddy, Director of Delsus Limited, provided an overview of responsible investment in developing countries and the options for considering environmental social and governance factors in public and private equity investments.

Marilou van Golstein Brouwers, Managing Director of Triodos Investment Management BV explained how microfinance enables investors to support micro entrepreneurs in developing countries and how it works in practice at Triodos.

Dr Alan Gillespie, Chair of IFFIm (International Finance Facility for Immunisation), described how IFFIm and the World Bank raise funds for GAVI immunisation programmes in 70 developing countries by issuing bonds in the capital markets.

Opportunities for Green Investments
